As I looked at my sunburnt face in the mirror this morning I realised that finally summer must be here and so it's time for the Summer Sale to begin!

There are a growing number of laptop bag thefts as criminals identify the rich pickings in many commuters' bags. .

We started with a new, more modern look - there's nothing like a smart, clean design to make shopping more enjoyable and allow us to show off our great laptop bags.

We've also changed the navigation layout to make it easier for you to find the right laptop bag. We've moved the type of bag selection to the top of the page as the main way to sort through our extensive product range.

We've also added new areas on the right of the homepage showing off our weekly offers and to highlight our range of laptop protection products including Doberman laptop bag alarms.

One of the difficulties with buying online is that you can't properly see and touch the laptop bags before you buy. In almost all cases our customers are delighted with the choice they make over the web (we've had one return where it was a duplicate Christmas present and one where the customer's spouse had bought too small a bag) but sometimes you want to get your hands on the product before you buy.

Well now you can. We held our first workplace sale two weeks ago and it was a great success. We have a number of others booked in and are keen to visit more workplaces to show off and sell our great range.

Many offices already run table-top sales and have book, card or jewellery sales. To make it as easy as possible to choose the right bag on SatchelsAndBags.com we've set up menus so customers can browse by style of bag, by price and by brand. We also categorised our bags into laptop sizes as this is a key consideration when buying a new bag.

Our categories have been in bands - up to 8", 8-10" and so on. We have now added two more specific categories.

One of the benefits of Google's webmaster tools is that they help you understand how customers are looking for products. In our market the largest search term is unsurprisingly 'laptop bags'. By analysing the data further down the list the laptop bag size most searched on was 17". This was followed by 15.6" laptop bags.

So we have now created a 17" laptop bag category, covering all out products which are designed for 17 inch laptops, including cases, backpacks, messenger bags and wheeled trolleys, as well as laptop sleeves.

In addition we've added a 15.6" laptop bag section, catering for customers of medium size laptops.

As we continually learn from our customers how they search for great laptop bags, we'll evolve our site with the aim of making it the easiest place to buy great value bags.
